Chomp Chomp
About This Spot
Tucked away on the second floor of Bellago Residence in Malate, Chomp Chomp carries the familiar hum of a casual, well-loved neighborhood spot where students and locals find comfort in familiar flavors and modest surroundings. The climb up the stairs signals a gentle escape from the busy streets below, leading to a space that feels unpretentious yet warmly inviting—a little nook where the pace slows just enough to savor simple pleasures.
Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate, with a modest layout that encourages shared meals and unhurried conversations. The interior wears its lived-in character with a quiet charm, while small balcony seats offer glimpses of the bustling Manila cityscape, grounding this spot as a genuine urban refuge. The friendly staff’s easy presence adds a human touch that turns first visits into familiar faces over time.
At Chomp Chomp, food is where the heart truly lies. The menu feels like a thoughtful exploration of Southeast Asian home cooking, bringing together hearty bowls and aromatic dishes that comfort as much as they satisfy. It’s a place where the spice and warmth of a well-prepared laksa or the satisfying depths of nasi goreng become a shared secret among those who know to come back. Portions ask to be shared, inviting a journey through flavors that are rich without being fussy.
There's a quiet joy in discovering this spot—not in glossy presentation but in authentic flavors served with care, in a space where the familiar crowd and newcomers mingle over dishes that evoke distant streets from Singapore to Shanghai. Chomp Chomp is less about flash and more about that comforting feeling of finding your own nook in a busy city, one bite at a time.

Worth trying. I recommend trying their different dishes since cheap and authentic feels Friendly staffs but place looks a bit old. Pro tip: free 1x refill ng laksa soup

Affordable asian food, lots of dishes to choose from singaporean laksa, satay, and nasi goreng are must tries. Service and Servings are good. Space is a little small and cramped.

My comfort food since 2017. I’m so glad I discovered this place. Best Laksa and Nasi Goreng.

For the laksa, I am giving this place a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is true that their laksa is one of the best I have tasted outside of Singapore. They do not scrimp on ingredients and they serve it piping hot ( of course on top of a burner that I thought I ordered for Tom Yum Goong!) The orange chicken was so-so. The place is cozy (not too much stairs to climb!), the service staff attentive and the price is just okay. I am so happy about this “discovery”!

You need to climb a flight of stairs to reach Chomp Chomp. Interior is simple and this place is usually filled with students. Some seats are available at the balcony. Too bad former neighbor Roots & Herbs is gone. First-timers MUST try the Singapore Laksa! It's affordable, shareable, and served hot & spicy. Chicken Teriyaki junior size is just right to get filled. It's like most teriyaki dishes I've tried but simpler. The egg topping is cooked perfectly! Fish Fillet in Mango Sauce tastes like dory with mango jam. It's good, light on the tummy, and simple. I suggest partnering it with something. Fried Noodles are good for the first few bites. The rest of the way, I got tired of the flavor. Eating this with something is the right way to go.

Best known for its Asian favorites, Chomp Chomp doesn’t only have an easy-to-remember name but delicious meals to back its brand. Its orange logo makes it pop, one can easily notice their store. Its located on the second floor, so you have to take a few steps up to try their menu stars. We weren’t able to maximize our visit as instead of ordering the main dish laksa, we ended up choosing fried chicken meals. The meat’s dry and the overall presentation was underwhelming. We could see the orders on other tables and they looked enticing. Next time, we’ll try other options. Also, the crew told us the fried chicken meals take a longer time to prepare. Chomp Chomp only accepts cash as mode of payment. There’s a nearby 7-Eleven outlet with a BDO ATM.
